The best way to defeat them is by throwing either [[Yellow Pikmin]] and/or [[Purple Pikmin]] on the beetle's back to flip it over, and then following it up by swarming with any Pikmin type (just be careful to get any Pikmin vulnerable to electricity back out of the way before the beetle flips itself back over again). Purple Pikmin, thanks to their homing ability and shock waves, can flip these from a distance as well, making them effective when in a hurry. If an [[Ultra-bitter Spray]] is used, the Anode Beetle will become vulnerable to easy swarming. When defeated, they let out a small squeaking sound, as if they are sad.
